Suno Studio in September 2026: improved MIDI, BPM-aware chat and what Studio 2.0 actually adds
Suno Studio changed substantially in August and September 2026. Studio 2.0 added MIDI, effects, a wavetable synth, automation and a chat bar; September updates then improved MIDI behavior, made chat aware of BPM changes and added smaller workflow fixes.
If you use Suno only from the Create page, Studio 2.0 is a different workflow: it is a browser production environment for arranging, recording, generating and editing. It is currently a Premier feature, and Suno recommends Chrome for the best experience.
September 17: MIDI-to-audio became more accurate
Suno’s September 17 release notes say MIDI transcription to audio became faster, more musically contextual and more faithful to the source. The same update says prompting MIDI from scratch through the chat bar now gives more expected results.
September 2: chat learned more about tempo
Earlier in September, Suno said the Studio chat bar became aware of BPM so it can process tempo changes. The update also added undo for prompt edits, easier plugin copying/duplication, faster playback and project loading, plus several MIDI/export fixes.
Studio 2.0 is more than a prompt box
The August 13 Studio 2.0 release introduced MIDI import/record/editing, audio effects, a wavetable synth, musical typing, automation and a beta chat bar that can generate instruments/vocals and help design sounds or plugins. Suno positions it as a full browser production environment rather than only a song-generation page.
Important browser limitation: Safari and Web MIDI
Suno’s own help center recommends Google Chrome for Studio 2.0 and states that Web MIDI is currently unavailable in Safari. If MIDI hardware is central to your workflow, browser choice matters.

The notable September change is not simply “Suno got better.” Studio is becoming a deeper production environment, and its MIDI/chat workflow is improving quickly. Re-check official release notes before relying on a specific Studio behavior because the product is changing frequently.
