Artist accounts you should claim after distribution

A distributor can put your song into stores without automatically turning you into the administrator of every artist profile. Claiming the official tools is a separate step — and it is where you get data, profile controls and release tools.

After your first release is delivered, claim Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists and Amazon Music for Artists. Set up TikTok for Artists if eligible, and work toward a YouTube Official Artist Channel.

Spotify for Artists

Spotify says the artist profile is created automatically after music is delivered. Claiming Spotify for Artists gives you profile editing, analytics and release pitching. Access can sometimes be accelerated through supported distributors.

Apple Music for Artists + Shazam

Apple lets artists or artist managers request access after content is live. Apple currently states that content must have been live on Apple Music for at least five business days before you can claim the artist page. Shazam data is built into Apple Music for Artists, so you do not need a separate Shazam for Artists account.

Amazon Music for Artists

Amazon Music for Artists lets you claim an artist profile and view artist data. Amazon says artists using certain distributors, including CD Baby, DistroKid and TuneCore, can get instant access by authenticating with the distributor login.

TikTok for Artists

TikTok launched TikTok for Artists in 2025. In supported markets, it is available to artists with a certified TikTok Artist Account and provides daily-updated dashboards covering music, posts and follower insights. If TikTok matters for discovery, do not stop at having your track available as a sound: use the artist analytics too.

YouTube Official Artist Channel

YouTube’s Official Artist Channel can consolidate artist subscribers and music content and adds Analytics for Artists. Eligibility includes at least one official music release delivered by a distributor or label plus other program requirements; requests normally go through a label, distributor or approved music partner.

Deezer for Creators

Deezer for Creators lets artists customize their profile, highlight releases and inspect audience and release analytics. If your distributor sends music to Deezer, claiming this dashboard gives you control that distribution alone does not provide.

TIDAL artist profile

TIDAL now lets artists claim their public profile directly at tidal.com. Distributor verification through DistroKid, CD Baby or TuneCore is currently the fastest route and usually gives immediate access; manual verification can take up to eight weeks.

SoundCloud for Artists

If SoundCloud is part of your release strategy, SoundCloud for Artists brings together distribution, monetization, earnings, promotion, comments, fan data and insights in one artist dashboard.

Use this in your next generation

Being on a platform is not the same as controlling your artist presence there. Claim the accounts and check them after every release.
