How to promote AI music for free without buying streams
Free promotion does not mean effortless promotion. The advantage is that every major artist platform already gives you some combination of profile tools, analytics, content formats and release features. The job is to use them consistently.
Prepare the profile, pitch before release where possible, publish several different short clips around one song, use the official sound, reply to real people and measure what creates saves, follows and repeat listening.
Before release
- Claim artist profiles as early as possible
- Use one consistent artist name and image system
- Prepare several vertical clips instead of one announcement
- Pitch an unreleased track in Spotify for Artists at least seven days early
- Create a simple link destination for the release
Release week
- Post the strongest 10–30 second moment more than once with different framing
- Show a lyric, production choice, story or visual hook rather than only the cover art
- Use the distributed official sound on social platforms when available
- Answer comments and turn useful questions into new posts
- Pin the release where the artist platform allows it
After release
Use artist dashboards to find the clips, countries, audience sources and songs that actually move. TikTok for Artists provides music and post analytics; Spotify for Artists provides source and audience data; Apple Music for Artists and YouTube artist analytics add their own view of listener behavior.
What not to do
Do not pay for guaranteed streams, followers or playlist placement. Spotify explicitly warns that these services can use bots or other artificial methods, and confirmed artificial streams do not generate royalties or improve recommendations.
One good song can create weeks of free content. Promote the song as a story and a sound, not as the same “out now” poster every day.
